Our Story

The story of Scripps Poway Eyecare & Optometry actually began 500 miles away, on the campus of U.C. Berkeley where Keith Wan and Jay Mashouf were classmates in the School of Optometry starting in 1993.  Both had the dream of opening a private practice in Southern California where they each grew up.  Deciding that it was better to take the plunge together, they (along with their wives and kids) moved to beautiful San Diego and opened Scripps Poway Eyecare.  There were many challenges along the way, but their commitment to "patient centered care" has paid off and decades later, they have woven themselves into the fabric of Scripps Ranch and neighboring communities and have been priveleged to take care of thousands of its residents.
